Uncle Jack (Jack Smith), Oldest Inhabitant Of St. Augustine, Florida, c.1870's. Card measures 4" x 7", several small smudges on reverse, overall outstanding condition. Wonderful original stereo view card of Jack Smith, a former slave, who's African name was Sitiki.

James Kirke Paulding (August 2nd,1778-April 6th,1860) Original Autographed Letter Signed, New York, July 27th, 1837. Measures 7 3/4" x 9 1/4". Outstanding condition. 


Celebrated American writer of the time, close friends with Washington Irving, co-author of Salmagundi where "Gotham" was first used to describe New York City, appointed Secretary Of The Navy by President Van Buren in 1838.

The Chicago Rock Island & Pacific Railway Co., Choctaw, Oklahoma & Gulf Railroad Co., St. Louis, Kansas City & Colorado R.R. Co., Chicago Rock Island & Texas Railway Co., Chicago, Ft. Worth, Texas, 1903/1904. Four of the letters are 8 1/2" x 11", the letter from Ft. Worth, Texas is 8" x 10 1/2".


A remarkable set of original letters regarding business affairs of the day. The letter from Ft. Worth is addressed to W.B. Leeds (The "Tin Plate King") who was the President. Items on railroading from Texas are relatively scarce from that time. 


Binding holes present as usual, some minor wear along margins of several. Overall Excellent-Outstanding in every way.
